Hog roast hire for Seven Dials

Hog roast hire in Seven Dials, carved to order

Hog roast hire takes the cooking off your hands. We get there early, put up the cover and roast for hours, then carve and serve at the time you choose. We’re often asked to cater garden parties and barbecues and sports clubs and societies, with new potatoes, spit-roast lamb and salads.

There may be a hall or playing field near Seven Dials if the garden is small; any can host a hog roast with permission. Our chef carves in front of your guests, so every roll gets hot pork and a piece of crackling.

How it works

We work to your timings. If the day runs behind, a cooked roast can be kept hot for a while, so tell us as soon as plans change. Late September evenings in Seven Dials lose the light at about 7:05pm, and at Christmas it comes at about 3:55pm. After dark, a lit path to the food makes a difference.

  1. It starts with your date, venue, numbers and serving time.
  2. You get a check on the date and the spot, and a quote.
  3. On the day, we set up on the agreed spot and start roasting.
  4. We carve and serve when you’re ready to eat.
  5. Afterwards we clear up and leave the spot tidy.

Before we arrive

  • Think about shelter for your guests
  • Keep the spot clear of buildings, marquee walls and overhanging branches
  • Give us final numbers a week or so before

How we price a hog roast

We don’t use a fixed price list, because every event is different. The main factors are:

  • Menu choices and extras
  • Season and day of the week
  • Crockery choices
  • Numbers

Adding lamb, chicken, extra sides or china changes the price, so we list each one in the quote. Keeping it simple keeps it affordable.

Getting an accurate quote

The more we know, the more accurate the quote. Please include:

  • What the outdoor space is like
  • Which meats and sides you’d like
  • The date and time of the event
  • The address or postcode

To get a quote, just tell us the date, where the event is and roughly how many. A photo of the cooking area helps. Send us your details through our quote form.

A hog roast compared with other options

A hog roast has one downside: it is pork. That’s why we offer lamb, chicken, halloumi skewers and a vegan option for anyone who doesn’t eat it. Published UK guides give a wide range for hog roast catering, from around £10 a head for a basic roll to £20 or more with sides and service. Every event gets its own quote, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.

Why us?

  • Salads, potatoes and coleslaw to go with it
  • A clear quote with everything listed
  • Our staff serve and clear
  • Served at the time you choose

For planners, venues and organisers

If you are booking for a workplace, ask your facilities team about outside caterers and gas cooking. We work to the site’s rules.

Marquee suppliers usually set distances for cooking equipment, so let them know about the roaster. The roaster stays a safe distance from the marquee.

What we serve, dish by dish

Salads, potatoes and coleslaw

Salads, new potatoes, coleslaw and roast or jacket potatoes turn rolls into a full meal.

Roast pork

The hog roasts slowly for hours, so the meat is tender and juicy, and it is carved fresh as people come up.

Should I cook it myself?

We also hire out the hog roast machine for confident cooks. You cook and carve it yourself; we will confirm what comes with it when you ask.

You could go for a cold buffet, but hot, freshly carved roast pork is a different experience.

Your questions about a hog roast in Seven Dials

Can you cater after a service at St Luke's Church Prestonville?

Yes, at a home, hall or venue nearby with an outdoor spot for the roaster. Food is usually served at the reception venue rather than the church. Send us the address.

How far is Seven Dials from London?

About 46 miles from central London, and we cover it as standard.

What if it rains?

We cook under a gazebo, so rain isn’t a problem for the roast. A marquee, hall or barn for eating makes all the difference.

When do you start roasting?

It depends on the size of the hog and the weather, but it is several hours. You’ll know our arrival time in advance.

What is hog roast hire?

We roast on site, carve to order and serve, with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling.

What’s included?

Pork, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling in a soft roll. Sides and extra meats are listed in your quote.

What about guests who don’t eat pork?

We can add lamb or chicken, plus halloumi skewers for vegetarians and a vegan burger or sausage. Halal meat is not something we offer.

Is hog roast hire catered or DIY?

Both are available: we can cater fully or hire out the machine. Most people choose catering.
