Film and TV set catering, slow-roasted on site
On a long shoot day, a hot lunch that arrives on time matters. A hog roast suits a unit base: it roasts through the morning outdoors under cover, and our chef carves quickly when lunch is called, with rolls or plates, salads and potatoes.
Chicken, lamb, halloumi and vegetable skewers and a vegan option cover most crews. Send us the location, call times and numbers, and we’ll work with your location manager or production office on access, the base layout and timings.

How it works
- The production office sends us the location, dates, numbers and lunch time.
- We check access to base and the cooking spot, then quote.
- We agree our position and arrival time with the location manager.
- We roast through the morning and carve to order when lunch is called.
- We pack away straight after service and leave the base tidy.
Call times change
Schedules move. A slow roast can be held for a while once it’s cooked, so give us a contact on the day and we’ll adjust where we can.
Location access
Some locations have narrow lanes, soft ground or restricted parking. Tell us about access to base when you enquire.

A hog roast compared with other event catering
| Option | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Hog roast | One roast feeds a crowd; carved hot in front of guests; no kitchen needed | It’s pork, so add lamb, chicken or vegetarian options; needs an outdoor cooking spot |
| Barbecue | Casual and familiar | Food comes off in batches; someone has to stand at the grill |
| Food vans | Quick, informal street food | Each order is cooked separately, so big groups can mean queues |
| Cold buffet | Simple; no cooking on site | Food sits out; nothing hot on a cold evening |
| Plated meal | Formal and traditional | Needs a kitchen, more staff and usually costs more per head |
What your quote should include

- Whether VAT is included
